The Mayflower took a bit of a bashing during the storms earlier this year most if it survived without any issue but the aft tiered end had shifted a little so we pulled it back into place and braced it into its original position once again.

She is now in perfect condition so onward to completion!

Tickets are now back on sale at our ticket sales page here or in Torrington at Duffy's Home Hardware for a limited time.

NB: There will be NO tickets on sale on the night you MUST purchase in advance.

After 6 months away the Mayflower was looking weathered from the sun and rain over the summer. Nothing a little paint won't cure, a splash of yellow, white and blue all done with social distancing.

Not the best way to celebrate the anniversaries of 400 years and 50 years respectively but i guess it will be just as awesome at 401 and 51 years.

See you all at the big burn in 2021!

When we build a very large bonfire we need lots of fuel for it and good clean pallets are ideal for this purpose. They can also be used in a structural basis to hold the structure together.

Atlas packaging have been keeping us supplied for many years now and we are truly grateful for their support.

A Few words from our sponsor:

Seth Conway of Atlas packaging shortly after we erected the 1st parts of the masts:

We’re delighted to be helping the Great Torrington Cavaliers with their fantastic replica of the Mayflower.  Well done on a big milestone and we look forward to keeping you supplied with pallets.

We are proud to have WM Iron work as one of our sponsors again for this build. They are helping us with the steel braces to join the masts and other fixings too. Thank you!

A few words from Stuart West (Director):

When the Cavaliers asked WM Ironwork for Support of the 2020 Bonfire, We were only too happy to help!

The Cavaliers over the years have raised a great deal of money for Local charities and been a great influence in the Local town of Torrington.

WM Ironwork has always been proud that we employ North Devon Based personnel and feel it’s very important to support our local area.

The Bonfire is a great way of raising money with the added benefit of a great enjoyable day for the people of North Devon.

We are proud to of been asked to help the Cavaliers!

Brian and Andrew Smith of KAS Crane Hire have been sponsors of us since 1990. They have supplied cranes for installing key parts of the builds such as masts for the ships, the roof of the Trumpton Windmill and the top of Big Ben to name a few. We are delighted that they are still supporting us now. Nothing is too much trouble. Thank you!

A few words from Richard Halliday :

Dartington Crystal are delighted to support the Torrington Cavaliers in their 2020 Mayflower 400 bonfire event. As a Torrington business and employer we see the value of this charitable project to the local community, plus we are well aware of the high profile that the Mayflower 400 celebrations will bring to our region and beyond. We will be producing a selection of commemorative crystal pieces (linked to the Mayflower 400 programme of events) and it is great that Torrington has a part to play in them.
