We are really please that these organisations are helping because we would be unable to stage such an event without their valued help which in turn allows us to raise money for charity. Thank you.

We held our Authorities presentation meeting Friday 16th March 2018. This heralds the process to leading to the build start. It was a very successful meeting when we advise those concerned of what we are planning and what we consider is required to move things forward.

It was attended by members from the following organisations:

Fire Service
Torridge District Council
Great Torrington Town Council
Great Torrington Commons Conservators

We have to thank all the above for they input and:

The Green Lantern for providing the drink FOC and the cakes / biscuits.
The Mayor, Sue Mills, for agreeing to pay the cakes / biscuits.
Great Torrington Town and Lands Charity for the use of the meeting room and projector.

Onwards now for the official build start, date TBC.


We have just decided on the main beneficiaries for the next major bonfire - Mayflower 400 in 2020. This time there will be 4 main organisations each receiving 10% of the monies raised with the remaining 60% being shared out to those that respond to the post bonfire invite in the local press.

Our good fried Damien Stacey drew this impression of what the next fire will look like. It will be a full size replica of the Mayflower in port with strategic building from Plymouth around it (yet to be confirmed). We will update this further as we get more information
