A few weeks ago we had a busy day tidying with a telehandler from Aplant and it made a considerable mess so this weekend Aplant supplied a small digger so we could level the site and dig a few more holes to the rear for some more trees to support the buildings to be constructed on the port. Trees donated by RHS Rosemoor.

If all goes well next weekend Saturday 6th April KAS Crane Hire will be on-site15:28:08A view from the deck - 30th March 2019 to lift the 1st 40 ft sections of the masts into place!

Restart of the build started, good progress.

Thank you Aplant for the supply of the machinery

  • The day started with a sponsor event where our supporters and sponsors visited to firstly see the official unveiling of our Hand painted 8' x 4' painted by our President Roger Davies. The sponsors were then shown the bonfire close up and the plans that we are working to whilst having a cup of tee and refreshments. Please visit our Sponsors and supporters page to who is helping us by clicking this link.

After this we started the Family Fun day!

We staged our annual Family fun day on the 25th August. This is a FREE event with plenty of bouncy castles and climbing inflatables, a climbing wall plus much more....

Later we had live music from 4pm with the Last Ranchero's and the Nomads. Thank you so much for supporting us an playing for nothing, we couldn't put on this event without your invaluable support.

  • On Mayfair day 3 brave women from the Black Horse Inn had their heads shaved for 2 worthy charities. They aimed to raise £5,000 to be shared equally between the Great Torrington Cavaliers and Macmillan Cancer Support.

Before our monthly meeting on Thursday 7th June, Bev, Jane and Payton presented us with a cheque for £5307 being half of the £10,614 raised. What an amazing result and Thank you so much for the donation, we are all very proud of you.

Openreach visited site this week and drilled the 3 holes that will take the 80ft masts of the Mayflower. Thank you to the operators, Danny Stewart and Rob Puig and their manager Dave Brown for arranging this.

It was necessary to drill these rather than use a digger because the ground around them will be more solid to support the masts. we can now begin to work on the structure of the ship.
