Mayfair & Carnival 2016

Great Torrington's crowning glory, our Mayfair, on the 1st Thursday of May. The Cavaliers had a busy day setting up at 7am and entertaining the crowds in the morning and again in the afternoon.

Our excellent dancing team trained for many weeks under the direction of Teri Adams, what a hard but excellent job she did and we are extrememely greatful for her help. The theme was a tribute to a true music legend, David Bowie.

1646 Civil War Commemoration march - February 13th 2016

Our now annual event took place to commemorate one of the last English civil war battles fought in the streets of torrington on 16th February 1646. We now organise this event because we feel it is a very important event not to be forgotten. The Cavaliers led the march with flaming torches following the route of the incoming army, it is a very spectacular event.

Childrens Giveaway 2015

This our favourite event of the year, Santa Claus comes to Torrington to give christmas packages to all the children of the Town. Santa is a good friend of the Cavaliers and always allows some time in his very busy schedule to come to us. Thank you Santa!

For the adults there was Hot Mulled Cider, hot mince pies with clotted cream and hot chestnuts, all FREE from Santa and the Cavaliers. The theme this years continued the Trumpton them of 2015 and a stunning grotto was painted by Damien Stacey, our Treasurer Chris Stacey and Andy Pitcher.
